Impressive Accomplishments Up North

The delegation at the greenhouse of the children from Ulpanat Gilad.

November 20, 2008 / 22 Cheshvan 5769

Ms. Deborah K. Smith, senior executive advisor for human resource development for United Jewish Communities (UJC) and the UJC Mandel Center for Leadership Excellence, and Sam Astrof, senior vice president and CFO of UJC recently toured projects benefited by the Jewish Agency's Israel Education Fund in the North.

Both at Ulpanat Gilad, a school for children with learning disabilities that is in operation thanks to a donation from the Turetsky family in Florida, and at the Jordan Valley College, whose first building was erected 30 years ago thanks to a donation from the Halperin family, they were impressed by the devotion displayed by the educational staff and by the serious investment made by the educational foundation to assist peripheral regions.
